Internationality is a vital part of vocational training and education. In fact, we believe it is a vital part of all education and personal growth. International cooperation and cultural learning have an important role in Savo Consortium for Education. Internationality consists of at-home internationality and internationality abroad. We have collaborators and partner colleges all over the globe.

Internationality at home

Internationality has great importance in our daily lives. At-home internationality consists of

  • incoming student and staff mobility
  • international campus visitors
  • language education and cultural education
  • utilising foreign materials in teaching
  • offering versatile education for immigrants
  • international tutoring.

We receive visitors and exchange students from all over the world. Many of our international students come form Russia and France. Our most popular field of education in regards of incoming mobility is the field of Social services and Healthcare. Usually incoming students come to Finland for their work-based learning.

An important aspect of our internationality at home is the education we provide for our students. We offer language education and cultural education. Our students can also take part in international tutoring.

Internationality abroad

Our internationality abroad consists of

Many of our students travel abroad for work-based learning. The most common destinations for our outgoing mobility are United Kingdom and Spain. Our students have visited the Nordic countries, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, India and Russia.

Our staff travels abroad as well. Our teaching staff members take field trips to familiarise themselves with foreign teaching methods and other cultures. Sometimes our students and staff travel abroad together when we participate in international skills competitions. We have attended skills competitions in Abu Dhabi, Budapest and Kazan. We believe that internationality is extremely valuable to both our students and staff.
